Seven friends and seven charities – To Each Their Own is a group photography exhibition, and one of the most worthy events we’ve seen in a while. The exhibition is in two parts – the first, a one-night event at Goodspace; the second, an ongoing exhibition, hosted by 212 Blu in Newtown and displaying a fresh set of photos. The charities benefiting are the Starlight Children’s Foundation, Beyond Blue, WIRES, The Redfern Foundation, Twenty10, White Ribbon and Orange Sky Laundry. “We wanted to use art as a way to engage young, creative people, and we’re tying that into doing something beneficial for the community,” says Marty Bailey, one of the photographers. “All seven of us were already taking photos, but none of us for exposure or money. And then we realized that we could help other people.”
